A healthcare center is one of a network of clinics. It is conducted by a group of general practitions and nurses. It provides healthcare services to people in a certain area. Healthcare centers are set up both in rural and urban areas. Generally, the rural people in Bangladesh enjoy the services of healthcare centers. But only typical services are covered in the rural healthcare centers. These centers mainly include internal medicine, pediatric, women's care, child birth, family planning, pharmacy, optometry, lab etc. The healthcare centers of Bangladesh are doing extremely well in the name of community clinics. In recent times, Bangladesh has made important gains in health outcomes. In terms of providing primary healthcare, the country has made important strides and most of the healthcare centers have already shown steady gain and so the health status of the population, especially the rural population has improved a lot. Presently, some steps have been taken by the government to improve the quality services of healthcare centers so that these services can reach the poor and the disadvantaged very easily.
